August 2017
Released: Apri, Transcending Obscurity India
Rating: 4.0/5

Lucidreams, one of the oldest heavy metal group in India is back with a new album. They released back in April, this year. It’s consisted of five songs.

The songs have that old-school vibe from bands such as Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Judas Priest, all of the old Classic bands which shaped the metal genre.

The music is classic heavy-metal. Drum fills, rocking guitar riffs with a whirling solo in every song, dropping bass shaking the place. The albums has a balance between aggression and calmness, with the vocals going from screaming to singing in a beautiful mix.

The only thing that got into my head was the sometimes short, repetitive riffs that kinda pull the feel away when they are only instrumental and are repeated for about 10-15 seconds. Also, in some songs while transitioning from the riff to solo, or from the riff, to the pre-chorus the transition sounds not so ear adaptable.

A thing that "stabbed" my ear was in the track "Ballox" there is a section in which the solo guitar and rhythm guitar don't quite go one with other, like they are on a different page.

Another thing , by me, is that the epilogue (2nd part of Father Forgive Them) should have came last in the setting because it kinda suits the whole album better.

The album is consisted of an Epilogue and Prologue (two part song), ending with the self-titled track, everything between is a heavy metal adventure.
