Terra Incognita is a band form in Athens Greece back in 2010. In 2011 they released their 1st album titled BARREN LAND. Their style is deeply rooted in classic metal drawing influences from the golden days of monstrous bands like Dio, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake just to mention a few. BARREN LAND was supported with quite a few shows ranging from local shows and reaching half a planet away to USA!!!!
After a two year hiatus Terra Incognita strike back with a new lineup and a new 4 song EP. The New EP contains 3 new songs and a remake of "Efialtis" that was first released on previous album.
It’s more than evident that TERRA has made giant steps in comparison to BARREN LAND. New songs are better structured and backed up by a crisp production of multi instrumentalist/director Bob Katsionis who is also handling keyboards here. TERRA guys are skilled players but they don’t fall in the trap of showmanship instead they try to create interesting and good songs with catchy choruses that stick to your head.
Fully capitalizing Billy Vass menacing vocals and passionate delivery. Billy Vass possesses an unusual voice. Standing between vocal giants like Ronnie James Dio, David Coverdale and fused with the aggressive and uncompromising style of Dee Snider he gives an explosive performance with lots of memorable moments. "Conquer" and "Sign With Blood" are the best moments in this EP with the later having an infectious chorus that’s hard to forget.
Terra Incognita are definitely on the right track here and this EP proves just that. Add to this their explosive live performances and you got yourself one hell of a band with a bright future in front of them. Fans of classic heavy metal who are searching for new stuff check out SIGN WITH BLOOD and you won’t be disappointed
